Netflix Vs. Redbox

NETFLIX Everybody should be familiar with Netflix nowadays so I'll just skip pass the introduction. I know it's really ancient to you "nubes" but I have major problems with it, mainly because I expect a lot from something so popular. So is $8 really worth it? Other than the awesome convenience, and the reconciliation with your favorite television shows, it's kind of a buzzkill. Here's the thing, it doesn't come with any of your favorite movies.
PROS Ok here's what your paying $8 a month for. Netflix is instant stream and should be available on almost every mobile device as far as cell phones, tablets, and video game consoles (you will need internet). It is equipped with television shows you forgot existed, including every season and episode. WARNING this will cause laziness and a constant repeating of catch phrases. It doesn't include EVERY television show but a lot of the old ones.

CONS When you think of Netflix, you think of a crap load of movies. Not every episode of Hey Arnold (which is still nice). I searched Tom Cruise's name and got nothing. That's a pretty good reason to cancel my subscription right then and there, THEN file a complaint. Every movie that's featured is something you saw before that you didn't want to see again or some movie you never wanted to see in the first place.

First thing I searched for was The Talented Mr. Ripley because it's on my "to watch list" and it said something about "instant queue, dvd only" Finally I found out what that obvious shit meant and got pissed off. Every movie you really want to see has to be shipped tediously to your house one-by-one. This is not what I signed up for Jack. Is this why you should read the terms and conditions?

Netlix is convenient but the movies suck. That should be their slogan

REDBOX is kind of like a primitive new movie source. The primitive part is you renting a DVD for a day but actually having to hook your DVD player up. Redbox comes with DVDs & video games that just came out and you get to rent them for a $1 a day. Well that's what it advertised.

PROS It comes with video games and DVDs for the freaks and geeks. Can't beat the price for a newly released movie on DVD and Bluray. It's only a dollar a day plus tax no monthly fee. Perfect date for for someone you're just trying to smash. BUT you're going to get what you pay for.

CONS Like I said before, actually holding possession of a DVD and planning on using it is obsolete to the opposition. Nobody still has a DVD player hooked up on the entertainment center. It's sticking out of a shoe box in the attic. Well dealing with Redbox, you're going to have to clean the old cremated dust off that thing and pop this disc in to watch the movie.

Redbox advertises $1 but the taxes can go up to .50 and the video games are $2 a day or more.

The only way to get a DVD from a Redbox is to actually get up off your fat ass and drive to a convenient store. That's spending money on gas to get there and back, and get there and back when you return it. If you don't return it, they charge you a $1 a day and can go as far to $24, then I guess you can keep it.

There isn't a large selection of movies, mainly new releases (the complete opposite of Netflix).

The thing about that is, some people don't return the DVDs/video games so they might be sold out of what you want. What that being said, the discs are used and they might be scratched up.

There is a Redbox app but there is NO instant streaming. Reasons to delete an app for 200 Alex...

CONCLUSION after going through all of the ramifications, Netflix is pretty much suffice to the modern day lazy american. You don't have to be Good Will Hunting to realize how much money you're actually saving on Netflix. If you're just getting something for the night, not really a movie lover, need to rent the video game before you test it out, get off your fat ass and go with the Redbox. Good day
